It's no secret that San Francisco has become one of the epicenters of the violence and attacks that are happening in our world.  I've always known the Bay Area to be a diverse and culturally rich destination that thrives on the influence of it's people. Watching an elderly person get punched for walking down the street, a father blindsided in front of a store or someone being stabbed in their own neighborhood was simply scary. You're quickly forced to process fear, anger, confusion and the endless amounts of emotions that these senseless acts of violence produce.

Unite The Bay is a short film that shows a glimpse of what it's like to be Asian in America today. It captures a version of the weight, frustration, anger and fear you feel in knowing that you, or someone you love could be next. But it also captures how we, the next generation of Asian/Asian Americans, gain experience in finding our voices and courage to speak out. It was important for me to reinforce the message of strength and unity back home in the Bay Area when I saw the community that raised me quickly change and become this place of violence. I encourage everyone to give support in the places closest to them as we join our efforts in spreading positive change and putting an end to the hate.
